RSFA Girls Flag Football Camp

New for 2025, Rising Stars Football Academy will be adding a Girls Flag Football Camp June 26-29th at Millersville University specifically for female student-athletes. 

In May of 2024, RSFA was asked to partner with NFL Flag Football and the Big 33 to produce the very first Girls Flag Football All-Star Game in the Country at Cumberland Valley High School during the Big 33 Football Classic Weekend. The RSFA Staff along with NFL Flag created, organized, and produced a round robin girls flag football tournament for the top female players from Pennsylvania to face off against the top female players from Maryland. The Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, and Washington Commanders all helped sponsor the event. Each team provided a small monetary donation of $2,000, and also provided each participant with uniforms, sports bras, duffle bags, mouth pieces, and other equipment for the event. 

Over the 3 day tournament we also had a recognition ceremony to honor these female student-athletes for their academic and athletic achievements, and we brought in guest speakers to speak to the players about academic excellence, leadership, life-social skills, physical/ mental/ emotional health. All participants were able to see that the game of football can be used as a vehicle to advance their youth development and help them reach their academic goals to succeed in their future careers. Many of the participants went on to receive academic and athletic scholarships to play Flag Football at the Collegiate levels. 

Currently we are planning for year number 2 of this event and we are excited to continue to help grow the game of football for female student-athletes and help these athletes with their development in the classroom, on the field, and in the community. As the PIAA was voting on Girls Flag Football to become a Certified Sanctioned Sports, our goal was to help support the efforts and show the PIAA that this can be very beneficial for female student-athletes across the state. The game of girls flag football is on the rise and we expect to see this game become very successful locally and all across PA. Female student-athletes are now earning scholarships to play flag football at the collegiate level.

After creating and producing this event, the RSFA Coaches and staff saw how awesome the talent was of all of our participants, and the impact the game can make on female student-athletes. Our staff saw that there was an opportunity to create a camp specifically for Girls Flag Football Players and to mirror the same game plan we have offered to countless male student-athletes at our camps over the past 17 years. We are excited to be a part of history as we produce the very first Girls Flag Football Camp in the country in 2025.
